“Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen” (Heb 11.1). There are two aspects of faith in this
biblical definition. First, faith confidently
expects that that which is hoped for will come to fruition even though it is
not yet seen. The Millennial Kingdom of
Jesus Christ, Heaven, and eternal rest and reward are realities that simply
remain unseen as of yet. Things not seen are realities yet to be
seen. Expectation and trust are
two concepts that come readily to mind.
Faith doesn’t continue to wring her hands in anxiety and worry. Faith is anxious about nothing and casts all
her care upon Him. Faith considers daily
miracles which abound and looks forward to still greater wonders yet to come.
