Give Yourself First

Paul spoke of churches giving abundantly and sacrificially even while in a great trial of affliction.  These churches gave even though they were deeply impoverished of material resources (2 Corinthians 8).  He also made it clear that “they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God” (8.5).  If I would just give myself to the Lord first, then it wouldn’t be so hard to give myself to others by the will of God.  I want to be dependable in bearing the burdens of others.
