Prayer Beyond Us

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Romans 8:26–27)

What are the unutterable groanings of the Spirit's intercession for us?  Since we are weak and unable to pray in accordance with the will of God, the Holy Spirit aids us.  The desire of every believer's heart is to do the will of God.  The Holy Spirit takes that desire and articulates before the throne of God that which we cannot.  And when He prays, the answer always comes back and the way is always opened.  Struggling with God's will today?  Take courage in Romans 8.26-27.
