“Ephraim has mixed himself among the peoples…” (Hosea 7.8a). “They mingled with the Gentiles and learned
their works; they served their idols which became a snare to them” (Psalm 106.35-36). The same danger faces believers today. What God provides is not meant to separate us
from Him. The material wealth or lack
thereof, the abilities and opportunities, and the length of life that each
enjoys are all stewardships to serve Him.
He must not be used so that we serve them. That is nothing more than masked
idolatry. That which we have and are
must only be a channel to find our satisfaction in Him and display it to
others. This is glorifying God.
