The temptation for many is to look at someone like Paul and think
that he’s a Kevlar Christian. It never
really occurs to us that the very fact that Paul was so favored by God led to a
dangerous mindset. He was tempted to
exalt himself above measure. Therefore,
God used a ‘thorn in the flesh’ trial that penetrated Paul’s spiritual Kevlar. Paul’s anguish is communicated in the three
separate times that he pleaded with God to remove the thorn. Whatever Paul’s thorn was …whatever your
thorn is, God’s grace is always sufficient.
His strength is perfected in your weakness. The truth is that there really are no Kevlar
Christians, but there is an all-knowing, all-powerful, God ready to cover you
with something far better – His grace!
